Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch the new generation Brezza in the Indian market. Bookings for the compact SUV are already open and the manufacturer will launch the 2022 Brezza on June 30. Now a walkaround video of the 2022 Brezza has surfaced online. In addition, we now also know the variant details and the color options in which the Brezza will be available.
The video is from a walkaround of the Brezza. We see both the outside and the inside. The overall design has been revised, but some of the key elements have been retained. For example, the 2022 Brezza still has a boxy design and a flat hood, but the bumpers, headlights and taillights are completely new.
Up front, there’s a new grille and a sleek pair of headlights that use a twin-pod LED projector setup along with LED daytime running lights. On the sides there are newly designed diamond-cut alloy wheels and black plastic trim. The Brezza in the video is finished in a simple white color with a darkened C-pillar that gives a floating roof effect. At the rear there are new slim LED taillights and the bumper is also new.
“Brezza” is written on the tailgate. The manufacturer will no longer use the “Vitara” nickname for the Brezza as they will keep it for the upcoming mid-sized SUV. The upcoming compact SUV will therefore simply be called Brezza.
In the video we also see the interior of the 2022 Brezza. There’s a new dashboard with a floating touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is a new flat-bottomed steering wheel and a multi-function unit. The instrument panel is also new. It has two analog dials and a multi-information display in the center.
Maruti Suzuki has also increased the trim level of the Brezza so that it can better compete with its rivals. It now comes with an electric sunroof, heads-up display, 6 airbags and a 360-degree parking camera. We also expect new connected car features that we saw on the Baleno.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the 2022 Brezza in four variants. There will be LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. The automatic transmission would be offered on the VXi, ZXi and ZXi+.
2022 Brezza is offered in 6 monotone and 3 dual-tone colours. The monotone colors are Metallic Magma Grey, Exuberant Blue, Prime Splendid Silver, Pearl Arctic White, Sizzling Red and Pearl Brave Khaki. The two-tone colors on offer are White and Khaki Brave, Sizzling Red and Black and Black, and Splendid Silver.
Engine and gearbox
The engine comes from the XL6. It will be a 1.5 liter K12C DualJet unit producing a maximum power of 103 Ps and a peak torque of 137 Nm. It will be offered with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
