5 Destiny 2 Exotic armor pieces that deserve an ornament (2022)

Destiny 2 is a community-focused game and the developers like to be open about their ongoing projects. While this has lessened due to recent toxicity and intimidation from the developers, Bungie is still quite transparent about their updates and any pending fixes.

In an August 4 TWAB (This Week At Bungie), the company revealed its plans to release an exotic skin with the help of the community. Players can choose one of three Exotics: Sweet Business, Arbalest or the Rat King. The chosen skin will be created by one of the artists from the Destiny 2 community.

That said, as Bungie starts to hire more artists for skins, players may be able to get a chance to get some ornaments for their favorite gear.

With over a hundred different exotic armor pieces to choose from, some of the pieces of equipment have become very popular due to the degree of utility they offer to their respective classes. So it will be nice for those handy gears to get their ornaments.

Raiju’s armor and other exotic armor pieces in Destiny 2 that should have ornaments

1) Contraverse Hold

Contraverse Hold is one of the favorite exotic gear for Warlocks, especially for Void builds in Destiny 2. It was introduced to Guardians in the Forsaken expansion, which gives everyone Grenade energy on Grenade damage dealt to enemies. Whether it’s Vortex or Axion Bolt, players are guaranteed to recover energy based on the damage their grenades inflict on enemies.

With so many gamers using Contraverse Hold as one of their favorite armor pieces in the game, Bungie should release an ornament for this fan-favorite exotic gear.

2) Raiju’s armor

Raiju’s armor is one of the most powerful exotic armor for hunters, as it allows the class to whirl their bow staff for an extended period of time. This armor is also one of the best looking pieces in its standard form and allows players to change the color with specific shaders.

It will be interesting to see what Bungie can add to this piece of armor on top of the glowing blue lines. Raiju’s armor can be obtained by completing modified lost sectors in solo with chest armor rotations.

3) Assassin’s Cowl

Assassin’s Cowl can make fighters invisible through a certain subclass. This particular Exotic allows the class to chain invisibility by landing charged melee abilities on enemies. However, different types of enemies allocate different lengths of time. They are as follows:

  • Small enemies: 6 seconds.
  • Elite enemies: 9 seconds.
  • Mini Boss: 12.5 seconds.
  • Bosses: 13 seconds.

Since this Exotic is better suited to Hunters in solo play, a new ornament will be a great addition for Guardians who like to rock this often.

4) Starfire protocol

The Starfire protocol is a very niche exotic in a Warlock’s inventory, as it allows the class to throw extra Fusion grenades. While energized, the Destiny 2 armor piece gives 20% grenade energy per weapon hit and 100% class power energy on grenade kills.

Players often like to perform this while damaging a Raid boss, as equipping a Well of Radiance and Fusion Grenade gives them both a support and DPS role. Starfire Protocol was introduced in Destiny 2 Year 1, so it’s surprising how Bungie didn’t make an ornament for this chest piece.

5) Antaeus Ward

Another exotic piece of armor introduced in Year 2, the Antaeus Ward has been one of the most popular picks among Titans in PvP ever since. This allows the class to fend off any incoming damage while sliding, including incoming Supers, Rockets, and other projectiles.

Considering how Antaeus Ward was the most chosen exotic at one point, it’s surprising why Bungie didn’t offer the Titans anything to match this deadly armor.
