5 most mysterious Minecraft mobs in 2022

Minecraft is a game of incredibly varied and intriguing mobs, with more being added all the time. While there are plenty of mobs to be found, some are more famous than others.

While some Minecraft mobs are relatively self-explanatory, others carry a layer of mystery about them. What is their real purpose? Where do they come from? How do they fit into the greater knowledge of Minecraft?

While many of these questions remain unanswered, the community has many theories. Below, players can find some of the most mysterious mobs released from The Wild Update in 2022.

Minecraft: Most Mysterious Mobs Players Can Face in Version 1.19

5) The Wandering Trader

A mob that only appears in front of other players, Minecraft’s Wandering Trader is a friendly villager who occasionally appears and offers various goods. However, this particular mafia does not always mix with villagers as players can find it in many other places.

In fact, the Wandering Trader cannot appear without a player’s presence, so why is that? Apart from potential profit, why should the trader follow players? Wouldn’t it still be able to trade with other villagers? It’s unclear, but Minecraft players are probably happy to see the merchant drop by and supply them with items and emeralds.

4) Allays

A recent addition to the 1.19 update, the Allay mob is mostly captured by the Illagers. Once released, players can tame these little sprites and even have them collect items and blocks for them. However, there is still plenty to learn about Allay.

Where is it from? Why does he enjoy cookies so much? Why is it attracted to music from notepads? These new mobs have raised more questions than answers, but perhaps Mojang will inform players in future updates.

3) Endermen

Even though Endermen has been part of the game for years, we still only know so much about them. Knowing that they are from the End dimension, players are angered by eye contact and can teleport and drop precious ender pearls. But there’s still a lot we don’t know about these tall, shadowy gangs.

For example, their irrational aggression towards endermites, or their ill-defined relationship with the Ender dragon. You might even wonder why they are so weak when it comes to contact with water. Players may never get these answers, but it can be fun to speculate.

2) Phantoms

Phantoms are divisive mobs due to their annoying presence after players go a few days without sleep. Other than that, not much is known about the shadowy flying mobs. Why do they only appear near players who have gone without sleep? Are they real, or are they imagined?

Since players can receive phantom membranes as an item, it is likely that they are living things, but where do they come from? Are they nightmares from a player’s subconscious?

Whatever the case, these mobs have been around for a while and not much has been revealed about their origin or purpose yet. With a little more time, Mojang can develop the story of these aliens.

1) The director

Introduced during the 1.19 update, the Warden is a powerful protector of the deep dark biome and its ancient cities. It contains what appear to be souls in its chest and lets out a heartbeat when it becomes suspicious of nearby threats. This ghostly mob clearly has a story behind it, but players don’t know the details yet.

It defends its stomping ground in the deep dark, but why is that so? Was it built by the inhabitants of the ancient city, or was it worshipped? The center of old towns has statues in the shape of the head of the director, but this raises more questions than answers about the game’s newest hostile mob.
