Apple WWDC 2022 iOS 16 iPhone 14 macOS 13 live updates

Apple’s big keynote kicks off at 10:30 p.m. IST. According to Bloomberg, Apple will introduce some key features for iOS 16, including the ability to further customize the lock screen. Apple previously added the option to customize the home screen with widgets, etc. It could also add more features to Messages to make the app more social. The health app may also get some updates, on the iPhone and the watch. Apple is also expected to refresh some of its apps on the Mac, including the Settings app.

But all eyes will be on announcements beyond the typical iOS or macOS domain. And this concerns Apple’s upcoming AR/VR or mixed reality headset. It is, of course, unlikely that the device will be showcased at the event. But Apple is expected to provide glimpses into future AR/VR features, including realityOS that should power the headset. We’ll have to wait and see what features Apple does reveal, many of which will be aimed at developers.

Finally, there are also some expectations around hardware. Most notably, a new MacBook Air with a more colorful chassis could make an appearance at WWDC 2022. This would be a change as Apple typically hosts a separate event for Macs. The new MacBook Air is expected to be powered by the new M2 processor, although other reports indicate that the supply chain crisis has hampered these plans.
