An Australian pub owner is caught on camera fending off an angry crocodile with a frying pan.

Storyful’s video shows cafe owner Kai Hansen face to face with a crocodile. The reptile appears to run towards Mr. Hansen before hitting it twice in the head with a frying pan. After the second attack, the crocodile is seen to quickly turn away and retreat towards some bushes.

According to the post’s caption, the incident took place at Goat Island Lodge, a remote establishment on an island in the Adelaide River. Airborne Solutions Helicopter Tours shared the short clip along with the caption: “Goat Island is not your average pub and King Kai is not your average tax collector! You just never know what he’s going to serve next.”

Since it was shared, the clip has gone viral. It has been viewed over 2 million times and has accumulated over 7,000 likes. In the comment section, one user jokingly wrote, “That alligator was spinning so fast its head is probably still ringing.” Another said, “Not a skillet, it’s a crockpot.” some users were even critical of the drying pan incident. “I bet this man is fed and now man wants him to leave,” said the third.

Meanwhile, according to news week, Mr. Hansen and his encounters with crocodiles are well known. Despite the local crocodile population, he moved to the remote island several years ago. Until 2018, he had a small dog, also named Pippa, that would attack crocodiles to startle them back into the water. But one day the crocodile, known by Mr. Hansen as Casey, caught the dog and killed her.
