Barcelona to improve offer for Robert Lewandowski – report

According to the latest rumours, FC Barcelona are likely to increase their bid for Robert Lewandowski in a bid to convince his club to let him go.

The first offer would be between 40 and 50 million euros, a substantial amount for a player of his age. But Bayern are unmoved and see him as an essential part of their squad. The striker has a one-year contract left and so far the Bavarians have told Lewandowski that he must fulfill it before he can play for another team.

There have been meetings between Bayern, the player and his agent, but that has not progressed the situation too far. Views still remain far apart, with Lewandowski looking to leave for the Nou Camp, and his current club unwilling to open the doors for him to leave.

If predictions come true that Barcelona will increase their bid, will it be enough for Bayern? Or do they remain determined that he is too important a player and would rather let him go next year, even for free?
