Kalidou Koulibaly makes his first start for Chelsea in a strong line-up to take on Udinese in the first of our Italian double-header.
In the first of two games against Udinese in as many days to complete our schedule of friendlies for the season, Thomas Tuchel has designated a competitive looking squad to take the field at the Dacia Arena.
Kalidou Koulibaly came off the bench in the final game of our US tour against Arsenal and is on the starting line-up in a Chelsea shirt for the first time since returning from Napoli on his return to Italy. He looks set to form a back-three alongside Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta, who captains the squad, ahead of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
Reece James and Marcos Alonso are on the flanks, while Jorginho is joined in midfield by N’Golo Kante, who makes his first appearance for Tuchel in this preparation after missing the trip to America.
Summer signing Raheem Sterling has also been involved from the get-go, likely to form a front three with Mason Mount and Kai Havertz.
Tonight’s match can be watched live and free in select countries, including the UK, on the official Chelsea website and The 5th Stand app.
The provisional squad numbers worn by the players in Italy are for the season only and not confirmed for the 2022/23 season.
