The leaders, including Minister Luhut and Indonesia’s foreign minister, recognized the international and technical strengths of the Chery Group and endorsed Chery’s investment plan in Indonesia. Moreover, thanks to their increasing knowledge of Chery Automobile, they have full confidence in Chery’s development in Indonesia, and therefore seek to coordinate with relevant departments to provide sufficient support to practically promote Chery’s development in Indonesia.

With an investment of nearly $1 billion, Chery’s manufacturing and manufacturing base in Indonesia will have a planned capacity of 200,000 vehicles

Under the overall declining trend of 6.6% in the auto industry in the first half of 2022, Chery Group created a year-over-year high growth rate of 12% with sales volume of 475,000 vehicles, including passenger car export sales of 148,000 , up 36% year-over-year, enabling rapid growth for the entire group. As a Chinese car brand that has maintained the No. 1 export sales for 19 consecutive years, Chery covers more than 80 countries and regions around the world, with a cumulative global sales volume of more than 10,000,000 vehicles, including the completion of 10 KD factories and 1500 sales and service points in overseas markets.

Mr. Zhang said that the Southeast Asian market will become an essential part in the process of further internalizing Chery, especially Indonesia, a country with the largest economy and population of the ten ASEAN countries, whose strategic significance is clear.

Therefore, Chery will build a production and production base in accordance with the plan in Indonesia, which will integrate research and development, production and sales to support Chery’s mission of rooting in Indonesia, spreading to ASEAN and even to the world export.

Mr. Zhang said Indonesia is rich in mineral resources and its nickel reserves are the first in the world, which is extremely beneficial for the development of the new energy auto industry. With the cumulative number of models of 9, Chery’s pure electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle models are expected to be launched mainly in the Indonesian market. Chery will further develop the industrial chain in Indonesia, including the integration of mineral resources, battery materials, energy batteries and vehicle manufacturing, and make the greatest contribution to economic and social development by promoting the transformation and improvement of Indonesia’s automotive industry.

With the further development of Indonesia and China, Chery’s general arrangement in Indonesia will usher in new opportunities for development

Today’s world is facing major changes never seen in a century, where ties between countries/regions have never been closer than today, creating a trend of coexistence with peaceful cooperation and openness. Indonesia’s President Joko’s visit to China this time has not only opened up more opportunities for cooperation, but has also become a crucial signal of the deep development of China-Indonesia friendly diplomacy.

Noting that President Joko also holds two major international identities. Currently, Joko is not only the rotating chairman of the G20 group this year, but also the rotating chairman of ASEAN next year, deepening the international influence of this meeting and enhancing Indonesia’s sense of responsibility and mission to participate in the global development is shown.

In addition, China has always been Indonesia’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade volume increasing by 58.4% from last year to around USD 120,000,000,000. China has been the exporter to Indonesia for several years, with investments in Indonesia reaching USD 3,200,000,000 in 2021. The in-depth development of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China will enhance the strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation between the two sides to create a model of mutual benefit and win-win results, as well as common development for developing countries in the new era .
