Maruti Suzuki releases new teasers of the upcoming Brezza. The new generation of compact SUVs will be launched on June 30. So far, Maruti has released three teasers. Now there’s a new teaser showing off the Brezza’s new touchscreen infotainment system.
The new infotainment system has been co-developed with Toyota and runs on a new user interface. It measures 9-inches, while the lower variants still come equipped with a 7-inch unit. There is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on offer.
In addition, the infotainment system also displays vehicle-related information. It will also offer many more connected car features through Suzuki Connect. Due to the larger screen, it is divided into segments so that it can show different things at once. It would be hooked up to an Arkamys powered sound system with Surround Sense.
The manufacturer has also teased an electric sunroof. It was about time Maruti Suzuki equipped one of their vehicles with an electric sunroof. The Brezza is the first to do so. They also showed a 360-degree parking camera that will help make parking the compact SUV easier. Then there’s the heads-up display that shows the driver various information right in their line of sight. It would show information such as speedometer, gear indicator, real-time fuel consumption, time and even fan controls. All these features, except for the electric sunroof, have been carried over from the Baleno.
The steering wheel has also been taken over from the Baleno. It is a three-spoke multifunctional unit with a flat bottom. This gives a sporty feel to both the cab and the driver. Maruti Suzuki has also revised the interior design. There is a new dashboard and the new infotainment system will take center stage as it will be positioned as a floating unit.
There is a new dashboard with a redesigned center console. The cabin will still be finished in an all-black theme with gray and brown inserts. We also expect a slightly renewed upholstery. We already know that there will be a new instrument panel that will still have an analog speedometer and rev counter. New for the Brezza will be the multi-information display and this time a colored TFT screen.
The Brezza would be offered in four variants. There will be LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+. Maruti Suzuki will offer an automatic transmission with all variants except the base LXi variant.
Maruti Suzuki uses the 1.5-liter K12C petrol engine to power the 2022 Brezza. It’s a four-cylinder, naturally aspirated unit that we’ve also seen on the XL6 and the Ertiga. It is a redesigned version of the 1.5 liter K12B engine that was used previously.
The new engine gets Maruti’s DualJet technology that gives more accurate refueling. The engine delivers a maximum power of 137 hp and a maximum torque of 137 Nm. It is mated to a five-speed manual or a new six-speed automatic transmission. If you get the automatic transmission, you also get paddle shifters behind the wheel.
