Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 4 Live Updates: Indian Ajay Singh gears up for the men’s 81kg weightlifting final. India and New Zealand playing in the Women’s Four semifinals as well. After taking two gold medals on Sunday, India hopes to increase their draw on Day 4 of the 2022 CWG. India has won six medals so far (three gold, two silver and one bronze). Two weightlifters shone for India on Sunday. Jeremy Lalrinnunga won a yellow metal for India in the 67kg category before Achinta Sheuli shone in the 73kg category. The duo’s success followed after Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu won a gold medal in the 49kg category, which was India’s first highest podium finish in the ongoing Games.
Several Indian top athletes will be in action on Monday. In badminton, India will face Singapore in the mixed team semifinals. In table tennis, the Indian men’s team plays the semi-final against Nigeria. In squash, Joshana Chinappa and Saurav Ghoshal play their respective quarterfinals. In boxing, Amit Panghal (51 kg) and Hussam Uddin Mohammed (57 kg) and Ashish Kumar (80 kg) come into action. After beating Ghana 11-0, the men’s hockey team returns to action against England in a Pool B Match.
