CWG 2022 Day 8 Live Updates: Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia reached the quarter-finals of the men’s 65 kg after beating Nauru’s Lowe Bingham. Deepak Punia also advanced to the quarterfinals after winning his fight in the men’s 86kg freestyle wrestling. Bhavinaben Patel reached the final of the women’s singles para table tennis classes 3-5. Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran reached the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles table tennis. The Indian pair defeated Nigerian duo Ojomu Ajoke and Omotayo Olajide in straight games. Manika Batra also reached the quarter-finals of the women’s singles, beating Australian Minhyung Jee 11-4, 11-8, 11-6, 12-10. Sudhir won a historic gold medal in men’s heavyweight para-powerlifting on Thursday, while Murali Sreeshankar won silver in the long jump. Star sprinter Hima Das will also be featured in the semifinals of the women’s 200m. In badminton, PV Sindhu will perform in the women’s singles, Round of 16 clash. Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy also compete in the men’s doubles.
