Actor Dia Mirza shared with her Instagram followers on Monday that her 25-year-old niece Tanya Kakde was killed in a car accident. On Wednesday, she shared an old photo of herself with Tanya and wrote her a heartbreaking note. Dia shared the photo, writing on Instagram: “I remember the squeak of ‘Dia Maashi’ that filled the hallways of my Mumbai home whenever Tanya came to visit. She brought with her an innocence that could sometimes go the wrong way. a smile that was always contagious, a curiosity that deserved to be encouraged and a very special kind of love that I will cherish forever in my heart Because I now know that, like everyone who has ever known her, I will miss being loved so unconditionally by her. Tanya was in many ways like a firstborn child to me.”
She added: “While she’s never had it easy, she’s always had us and I have to believe she’s always known that. A mischievous smile and the biggest hugs. I’m so grateful for her.”
She expressed her grief, writing: “Life can be immensely rewarding and life can be so cruel. I know we will struggle for years to come to understand this tragedy. I don’t expect this to ever make any sense. I know only that every time I see something beautiful it will remind me of her She had special gifts she sang she wrote so beautifully she could create magic with her brushes As a child she painted on canvases as an adult she made she the human face to her canvas Never wanting to change what is inherently beautiful in a person Always wanting to bring out the very best in them this was her gift She was wise beyond her age and her deep understanding of human emotions went way beyond her years I know that anyone who really knew her will always remember her I believe Tanya will always be with us I pray she has found her peace love you always Tanu Ma thank you for the joy you have in our lives t brought.’
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni dropped a heart emoji in the comments of the post. Many fans paid their respects to Tanya. One said, “She was too young to die.” Another wrote: “What a beautiful post. May her soul rest in peace.”
According to Siasat Daily, Tanya was returning from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad with four of her friends when their car crashed and overturned after hitting a roadblock at Satamrai. Her body was taken to Osmania hospital and her parents were informed.
