EXCLUSIVE: Farhan Akhtar puts Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif & Alia Bhatt’s Jee Le Zaraa on the back burner

It has been more than ten years since Farhan Akhtar directed a feature film. With memorable films like Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya and the Don franchise under his pussy, the director turned actor finally gave all his fans a reason to celebrate by announcing his next directing, Jee Le Zaraa starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in the lead. While Farhan was set to direct the slice of life entertainer, the script was written by his sister, Zoya Akhtar, who wrote another friendship story in 2011, Zindagi Na Milegi Doobara.

And now we have news that might upset a few fans. According to our sources, Farhan Akhtar and his team have decided to put Jee Le Zaraa on the back burner for the time being. “While everyone was excited to go on a fun road trip from September this year, all plans have changed. The bulk dates of the three protagonists do not match for the time being, and this has led to an indefinite delay in the film. A new timeline will only be released. will be chalked up when everything is locked,” a source close to the development revealed.

While some reports say the film could launch early next year, our source insists the delay is much more than that. “There is a high probability that it will be pushed to the end of next year. In a few months there will be clarity,” added the source, quick to inform that the entire script and screenplay of Jee Le Zaraa has been locked and it’s just the matter of anyone posting their combination dates for a span of 3 months.

Meanwhile, Farhan has already started writing a new project and we will update on that shortly. He also has multiple acting assignments, the front runner being the Rakesh Sharma Biopic.
