FCA US LLC (FCA US) has reached a settlement agreement ending a US Justice Department criminal investigation involving approximately 101,482 vehicles from the 2014 to 2016 model years that were equipped with EcoDiesel V-6 engines of the second generation. The agreement, which is subject to US federal court approval, includes a guilty plea, a $96.1 million fine and the forfeiture of $203.6 million in profits derived from the conduct. Consumer claims related to the vehicles in question have already been resolved and no additional recalls are required. As described in Stellantis NV’s 2021 financial information, approximately €266 million ($301 million) had previously been accrued in connection with this case, which is sufficient to cover the forfeiture and fine imposed by the settlement agreement.
