Every user now gets access to a new Gmail interface from Google that seamlessly integrates Meet, Chat, video calls and Spaces. Gmail for tablets will get better tablet compatibility, more emoji support, and additional accessibility features later this year.

Neena Kamath, product manager, stated, “Now you can customize Gmail to fit how you prefer to stay connected, whether it’s a standalone email application or a hub to easily switch between Chat, Spaces, and video chats in Google Meet.”

Over the past 18 years, Gmail has gone through many changes. The latest enhancements deliver helpful updates for all Gmail users, including the best of Google Workspace and a brand new look based on Google’s Material Design 3. “We’re bringing Gmail, Chat, Spaces and Meet together into one, try to help people stay connected,” Kamath said.

All Gmail users who have Chat enabled will get the integrated view. You will find that you can switch between programs in an easy, efficient way that you can adapt to your needs. Users will be able to enable the integrated view in the coming weeks by using the new visual configuration option in Settings, while those who want to keep their current Gmail layout can do so.

Rather than listing many discussions from each space, the revised UI consolidates the Mail, Meet, Spaces, and Chat buttons into a single list at the top of the left rail. Without everything on the screen at once, they are still immediately accessible and you can immediately join a conversation in any sector, as a list appears when you hover over the symbol.

“In addition to the user interface, we are always working to improve the functionality of Gmail. For example, we improve search results to recommend the best match for your query and bring search chips to your email to make it easier than ever to send the message find what you’re looking for,” added Google.
