Despite its huge popularity, there is no way to download and play Fortnite on Apple’s iPhones and iPads.

The duo broke up in August 2020 when Apple pulled one of the most popular games from their App Store. This dominant move by the California tech giant came after Epic Games released an update that allowed players to bypass Apple’s payment systems and pay Epic directly.

Apple didn’t approve this because it exceeded the 30% fee they originally charged. In the end, they deleted the app from their store, causing a nuisance to all fans.

Epic responded to this move with a lawsuit, which eventually led to a legal battle between the two companies. The developer even ran a protest ad titled “1984” asking fans to release Fortnite from Apple. Apart from that, they also started a raging #freefortnite thread on the internet.

Apple later released a statement saying: “Epic Games has taken the unfortunate step of violating the App Store guidelines that apply equally to every developer and are designed to keep the store safe for our users. As a result, their Fortnite app has been removed from the store.

Epic enabled a feature in its app that has not been reviewed or approved by Apple, and they did so with the express intent of violating the App Store guidelines regarding in-app payments that apply to any developer using digital sells goods or services.”

As of now, the game is still not officially available on iOS, although Microsoft has found a way to download it through the browser. So if your game is stuck in Chapter 2 Season 3, you should definitely check this out.
