Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe said on Saturday that a deal with the International Monetary Fund has been postponed until September due to the unrest in recent weeks, the Associated Press reports.

Wickremesinghe said in his first speech since he was elected by parliament, although when the prime minister wanted to reach an agreement in early August, it has now been postponed by a month, the report said.
