The government of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday gave great relief to the state’s power consumers by releasing the new tariffs for the current fiscal year 2022-23. The Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government has the 7 per unit maximum plate for urban consumers, and capped for 6.50 each.
Furthermore, a 10 percent reduction in electricity tariffs for consumers has been announced – under the responsibility of Noida Power Company -.
In a new notification, the UP Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) stated that domestic BPL consumers in urban regions of the northern state will now pay 3 per unit for spending up to 100 units of electricity. A discount of 50 paise has been given, with the rate previously set at 3.50 each up to 100 pieces.
In rural areas, however, the rate remains the same up to 100 units.
For the spending of electricity above 300 units, consumers in both rural and urban regions have been given an easing of 50 paise each.
