Pacer Mohammed Shami has given India a good start on Day 2 of the ongoing four-day tour match against Leicestershire at the Uptonsteel Cricket Ground. After India declared their innings to their nighttime score of 246 for eight, Shami struck twice early in the morning session to fire opener Sam Evans and Cheteshwar Pujara. After catching Evans on Virat Kohli’s first slip, Shami Pujara, who had been drafted for Leicestershire’s playing XI for this game, dropped onto a duck.
Shami threw a good length delivery and it climbed a bit on Pujara, who got an inside edge back on his stumps.
After the discharge, both Pujara and Shami had smiles on their faces and the India pacer gave Pujara a hug as he walked back to the dugout.
