As soon as the trailer dropped, viewers flooded social media with comments about the show and Sima Aunty. Some noted that the new season will also create a meme-fest like the previous season that came out in 2020, while others couldn’t wait to binge-watch the Netflix series.
One said, “Ah, more fun content! I hope they keep things as real, funny and fierce this season as they were in season 1. Super excited.” Another commented, “Finally. Something to satiate my guilty pleasures.” A third called it a “gold mine for comedians and memers.” One said: “Memes hi memes honge.”
Some were happy to see faces from season one in the trailer for season two. One commented, “Like getting some familiar faces back from last season — really helps get back on the show.” Another said, “They had Aparna back. So coooooll.” Aside from Aparna Shewakramani, Season 1 Padhyman Maloo and Nadia Jagessar were also featured in the Indian Matchmaking Season 2 trailer. One viewer joked, “Pradhyuman prepares foxnuts to decorate his date.”
Many commented that they are waiting more than the show for stand-up comedians Tanmay Bhatt and Rohan Joshi’s reaction video on the final season. Tanmay had watched the show in 2020 and shared his reaction to it as part of his YouTube series Tanmay Reacts. He was later joined by Rohan when they responded to an interview given by the stars of the show.
The second season of Indian Matchmaking starts on August 10 on Netflix. The trailer showed Sima struggling to find a partner for her clients with their ever-increasing demands, saying that God sent her to do matchmaking.
