CWG 2922 Day 7 Live Updates: Amit Panghal, Jaismine Lamboriya win their quarterfinals and secure more medals by booking places in the semifinals. PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth win their respective individual matches in the opening round.

Preview on day 7: Wednesday proved to be an eventful day for India, with four more medals added to the total to bring the country’s total number of medals to 18. Squash player Sourav Ghoshal scored a historic bronze medal, while Judoka Tulika Maan won silver in the women’s +78kg category.

Tejaswin Shankar was another Indian star athlete who medaled and won the bronze medal in the men’s high jump final.

The Indian hockey teams and the women’s cricket team also tasted success on Wednesday. While the Indian women’s hockey team led by Savita Punia defeated Canada 3-2 to secure a spot in the semi-finals, Harmanpreet Kaur’s cricket team also secured a place in the semi-finals with a dominant win over Barbados in a group match to be won . The Indian men’s hockey team, led by Manpreet Singh, caused riots all over Canada with Amit Rohidas, Lalit Upadhyay Akashdeep, Harmanpreet Singh, Manpreet Singh and Gurjant Singh all finding their names on the scoresheet.

The Indian men’s hockey team will return to action on Thursday when they face Wales in a Pool B match that starts at 6:30pm IST.

India is hoping for medals from athletes Mohammad Anees Yahiya and Murali Sreeshankar, who will both compete in the men’s long jump final.

Boxing will be another major highlight with Amit Panghal, Sagar, Rohit Tokas and Jaismine all in action.

The day before India kicks off with the Group A women’s hammer throw qualifying round, with Sarita Singh and Manju Bala in action, and the event kicks off at 2:30pm IST.

Srikanth Kidambi will also take center stage in the men’s singles round of 32, when he takes on Uganda’s Daniel Wanagaliya. Aakarshi Kashyap, who is up against the Pakistani Mahoor Shahzad, also takes action.
