The new iQOO 9T has a long and wide design. The company will keep BMW’s stripes as the phone falls under the motorsport edition (Legend). The phone comes with a glass case on both the back and the front. Despite its ergonomics, the phone is very easy to operate and has a low body weight. On the back is the very prominent frame that encapsulates the camera sensors and dual LED flash. The front houses the tall screen with the selfie sensor in the center of the screen. At the top of the phone is the IR blaster and noise-cancelling microphone, while at the bottom is the Type-C port, dual SIM card tray and speaker output. On the right side of the body are the volume buttons and the power button. One thing we loved is that the company provided a 3.5mm USB Type-C adapter to connect wired headsets.

The new iQOO 9T comes with a 6.78 FHD+ E5 AMOLED display. It has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 360 Hz touch sample rate and has an instant touch sample rate of 1200 nits. It has a peak brightness of 1500 nits, making the display visible even in bright sunlight. The bezels are thin and offer a better screen-to-body ratio. The reproduced colors are very sharp, vivid and punchy, providing the best viewing experience. The screen browsing is extra smooth, but the catch here is that the gaming experience is next level due to the instant touch sampling rate.

The new iQOO 9T comes with FunTouch OS 12.1 which is based on Android 12. The phone is packed with a new and powerful processor, the latest 4nm Qualcomm 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The unit we are talking about comes with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB ROM configuration. The phone is also available in another variant with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM. The processor is the fastest out there and there is nothing that can hinder the tasks performed be it gaming, multitasking, etc. It has two engines for haptic feedback, which further enhances the gaming experience. It has two soft monster buttons that you can assign to the screen. The V1+ chipset makes it possible for you to play the 60fps games in 90 or 120fps.

The iQOO 9T’s camera is at its best with a 50MP sensor with OIS that we’ve seen in Vivo’s X80 series. 13MP ultra-wide sensor that supports autofocus, 12MP tertiary sensor that supports 2X optical zoom. The phone does not miss a single detail while taking pictures. Low light photography is good. The selfies taken are also very detailed and sharp. The phone supports 4K video recording.

The new iQOO 9T comes with a 4700mAh battery and 120W charger. The processor also makes the phone energy efficient, making it easy to last a day. The phone charges from 0-100% in 20-25 minutes.

first thoughts

So far the phone seems to tick all the boxes. The whole packaging of the phone makes it a powerful performer at a glance. Launched just before the OnePlus 10T, which will be using the same chipset, the iQOO 9T has taken the first step. We’ll reveal more details about the phone in our review. So stay tuned!
