When asked about netizens writing off a movie on social media, Kareena stated that everyone has a voice these days because there is accessibility. “There are different platforms. Everyone has an opinion. So now, if that’s going to be there, you’ve got to learn to ignore certain things. Otherwise it just becomes impossible to live your life. And that’s why I don’t take things like this seriously,” Kareena told Indiatoday. The actress further stated that if a movie is good, the response will be good and surpass everything.
Speaking about the #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha trend on Twitter, Aamir had shared: “That Boycott Bollywood… Boycott Aamir Khan… Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha… I also feel sad because many people who say this in their hearts believe I am a person who doesn’t love India… In their hearts they believe that… And that’s not true at all. I really love the country… That’s me. It’s kind of a shame if some people think that way I want to assure everyone that this is not the case, so please don’t boycott my movies, please watch my movies.” This boycott was mentioned after an old interview by Aamir Khan went viral in which he stated that his ex-wife Kiran Rao had suggested they move countries because of “growing intolerance”. After a huge controversy that started with this statement, Aamir had clarified that he never meant that he wanted to leave the country or that India was intolerant. Aamir stuck to his statement, telling PTI, “I was born here and I will die here.”
