Kyra, India’s first virtual influencer, crosses 20 lakh followers mark on Instagram with first ad

India’s first virtual influencer Kyra has marked her commercial debut with audio brand boAt.

Virtual avatars are all the rage these days, blurring the line between reality and fantasy. They have an uncanny resemblance to humans and are often difficult to distinguish from humans. And it is well used. India’s first virtual influencer Kyra takes the internet by storm with her commercial debut. Kyra, dubbed “India’s first meta-influencer”, has teamed up with audio brand boAt to unveil boAt Rockerz 330 ANC and Rockerz 333 ANC. Surprisingly, in just a few days, the commercial has surpassed 20 lakh views on Instagram and over 10 lakh on YouTube. She shared the news on her social media handle “Kyraonig” with the caption: “Thank you so much for the great response to the #FutureOfAudio collaboration with @boat.nirvana. We’ve already crossed 2 million views! Here’s the Reels -version.”

Launched by Himanshu Goel of Top Social India, Kyra’s Instagram bio reads “dream hunter, model and traveler”. The account is managed by a team of content creators and partners with brands. She has 144,000 followers on Instagram. She looks like a fashionista. She was soft-launched in December 2021, but her official date of birth is January 28, 2022.

Her target audience is the age group between 18 and 26 years.

Kyra’s photos and roles on social media are blowing people away. She regularly posts photos that mimic real influencers, such as vacation photos, mirror selfies, and the occasional photo shoot. Users were surprised to know that Kyra is actually a digital avatar. In March, she also took part in a Metaverse fashion show, which featured global fashion brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Dolce & Gabbana.

Kyra follows in the footsteps of virtual influencers such as Rozy or Lil Miquela – a 19-year-old Brazilian-American model and music artist. Currently, Miquela has over 30 lakh Instagram followers and over 2.8 lakh YouTube subscribers. She is also associated with labels such as Calvin Klein and Prada.
