TVS Raider 125, shockingly, will be added to the least-selling two-wheelers in May 2022, Bajaj’s 250s battle
While the lowest-selling two-wheeler in May 2022 remained almost the same as the previous month, TVS’ latest 125cc motorcycle, the Raider 125, has made a shocking entry in this list. The KTMs and Husqvarna continue to deliver mediocre performance.
The Husqvarna twins were number 1 because they couldn’t find a single buyer in May. They face prolonged low sales, which may require Bajaj to pull the plug in the future. Okinawa Lite, KTM 125 twins, Honda CB300R and Okinawa Dual took the next 4 places.
They couldn’t even find 15-20 strange buyers. Duke and RC 125 have nearly lost their heyday and now offer no performance value for their prices. While the CB300R offers strong acceleration in a light package, the price just doesn’t match the overall performance.
It’s a troubling sign for Bajaj as the latest kids-on-the-block, Pulsar F and N250, continue to put in layoff performances to take fifth. It seems that the customers want the old 220 back with the same design. Honda’s strategy for the Unicorn could help Bajaj.
The Pulsars were followed by Okinawa Okhi-90 which sold just under 100 units. It took sixth place. The next 2 places were taken by Suzuki Gixxer 250 twins and Kawasaki Ninja 300. Sales of the Gixxers fell due to the arrival of the V-Strom SX.
At No. 9, Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise has vastly improved from last month’s layoff performance, with over 300 units now sold. Shockingly, the acclaimed TVS Raider 125 takes the 10th spot on this list.
It couldn’t even replicate the sales performance of the Apache RR 310 that took the next place. Aprilia SR & SXR 160 series, Bajaj Dominar 250, Honda Grazia and Okinawa R-30 took the last 4 places.
The Aprilia scooters are included in the list for the first time because they usually get good grades. Honda Grazia’s entry also comes as a surprise, as easily over 1000 units are sold.
