Cristiano ronaldo has yet to appear Manchester United‘s pre-season campaign but coach Erik ten Hag insists that the Portuguese superstar will do so and will welcome him with open arms.
The former Real Madrid The attacker is reportedly eager to leave the Red Devils but has been unable to find a potential candidate, but Ten Hag brushed aside any controversy and insisted it was only a matter of time before he returned.
“Concerned may not be the right word,” Ten Hag said of Ronaldo’s absence for the US tour.
“I’m focusing on the players out there and they’re doing very well. They’re in good shape and I need to focus on that and develop that.”
“I can’t wait for [Cristiano] to come in and then we’ll integrate him.”
Harry Maguire has had a torrid time of late, with his poor performances taunting his own supporters, as evidenced during the recent friendly against Crystal Palace.
But Ten Hag insists that Maguire is not trying to avoid the problem, but that he must face it and perform well to regain the confidence of the fans.
“When you perform, it slows down,” Ten Hag said.
“I think he and the team were impressed with the way we played. I don’t think it’s about finding out.” [if he was booed] if I understand it, it’s about how we can change it.
“So it’s the team and Harry himself by performing. We’re working on that, that’s the only focus.”
