Veteran India batter Mithali Raj has reflected on her international career. She did so via a statement on social media.

After starting playing for India in 1999 as a 16-year-old, Mithali went on to become one of the greatest players of all time. She represented India in 12 tests, totaling 232 ODIs and 89 T20Is and was also the captain leading them to the finals of two World Cups.

In ODIs, after starting with a hundred on the debut in 1999, she finishes as the highest run scorer in the world, finishing with a total of 7,805 runs with seven hundred and 64 fifty in total. The last of her fifties came in her last appearance for India, against South Africa at the World Cup in March, when India was eliminated.

In Women’s Tests, she is India’s only double centurion, with her 214 against England in 2002 also the second highest individual score in the game.
