Official: Barcelona’s 2022/23 La Liga matches list announced

With the 2022/23 campaign launching in just over a month, La Liga issued the schedule for the season.

The upcoming campaign kicks off on August 14, before a hiatus in November as the 2022 FIFA World Cup is played in Qatar. The season will resume on New Year’s Eve, with the last games in June 2023.

On August 14, Barcelona will kick off their campaign with a home game against Rayo Vallecano.

The first the classic of the season takes place at the Santiago Bernabeu with champions Real Madrid hosting Barcelona in Match Week 9 on October 16. The reverse match at Camp Nou will be played on March 19, 2023.

Barcelona will close horns with local rivals RCD Espanyol in their first game after the World Cup break on December 31 at home. The return leg will be played on May 14, 2023.

Meanwhile, Barca will play another Catalan derby this season, as Girona has earned promotion to La Liga via play-offs. The first derby meeting between the two teams will take place on January 29, 2023, while the reverse match will be played on April 9, 2023 at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona and other title contender Atletico Madrid will face off at Wanda Metropolitano on January 8, 2023, before going head-to-head again in Catalonia on April 23. The Blaugrana will play their last game of the season in the Balaidos on June 4, 2023.
