Indian taxi aggregator Ola from Bangalore has now released teaser images of their upcoming electric car. This would be Ola Electric’s second product in the Indian market. Ola released their first product, the S1 and S1 pro electric scooter, last year. The teaser images of the upcoming electric car were released during OLA’s customer day at their factory outside Bangalore. Ola’s CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said they will reveal more details about the upcoming electric car on August 15, 2022.
Some time ago, the cabin aggregator that has now become an EV manufacturer had shown a render of their EV concept. The image of the concept being a hatchback was shared on social media by Bhavish Aggarwal. The teaser that has now been released does look like a hatchback. It looks more like a low-slung sedan. It seems Ola has changed their plans and they are now working on an electric sedan instead of a small hatchback. The teaser images show not one but two models. Both models can be distinguished by the teaser images available online.
The first teaser image shows a low-slung hood with a thin LED light bar running across the front. The light bar is a single unit that curves around the actual headlight. There is also an illuminated Ola logo on the hood. The design of the rear lights of this concept is designed as a large arc that starts on one side of the bumper and goes up to the boot lid and then to the other side of the bumper.
The next concept also gets an LED light bar in the front, but instead of a single light sticking out to meet the headlamps, it gets two U-shaped LED daytime running lights around the headlamps. The rear lamp of this concept is a sharp-looking LED light bar that runs from one end of the trunk to the other. The Ola logo In this concept, DRL is positioned below the LED. The concept’s bumpers look a lot sportier with a lower bumper lip-like design, both at the front and rear. The teaser images also give an idea of what the side profile of the car could look like. The manufacturer goes for a coupé-like sloping design that fits neatly on the trunk. There are some prominent character lines on the fender of the car that would give the car a wider look.
While no teaser images of the interior are available online, the car is expected to come with a feature-rich cabin. We can all expect a Tesla-esque large touchscreen infotainment system that would control almost every function in the car. Ola will likely share more information in the coming months. However, we expect Ola’s electric car or sedan to offer a driving range of nearly 400 miles or more. There’s even speculation that Ola could bring the EV in both 2WD and AWD formats. The manufacturer is currently working on the sedan and is expected to hit the market at the end of 2023. Ola is also expected to keep the price competitive to attract customers. Ola launched the S1 and S1 pro electric scooter on the market last year and received an overwhelming response. Customer deliveries for the scooters have already started and both positive and negative feedback about the scooter are available online.
