Petrol, Diesel Prices Drop After Excise Duty Cut; Know Fuel Prices in Your City

Despite international crude hovering above $110 a barrel, gasoline and diesel prices at local pumps remain unchanged for the 29th day. The price of petrol was Rs 96.72 per liter in Delhi and Rs 111.35 per liter in Mumbai while diesel was sold for Rs 89.62 per liter in Delhi and Rs 97.28 per liter in Mumbai.

Prices were last changed after the central government announced on 21 May to cut excise taxes by Rs 8 per liter on petrol and Rs 6 per liter on diesel.

In Kolkata, after the excise duty cut, petrol was retailed for Rs 106.03 per litre, while the price of diesel is now Rs 92.76 per litre. Petrol in Chennai was sold on Sunday for Rs 102.63 per liter and diesel for Rs 94.24 per liter.

In other parts of the country, petrol price in Bhopal was Rs 108.65 per liter on Sunday and diesel was Rs 93.90 per liter on Sunday. In Hyderabad, petrol cost Rs 109.66 per liter while diesel cost Rs 97.82 per litre. In Bengaluru, the price of petrol was Rs 101.94 per liter and diesel at Rs 87.89 per liter, according to the latest report from oil marketing companies.

In Gandhinagar, the price of petrol was Rs 96.63 per liter and diesel at Rs 92.38 per liter. In Guwahati, the petrol price per liter was Rs 96.01 and diesel at Rs 83.94. In Lucknow, petrol was sold for Rs 96.57 per liter and diesel for Rs 89.76 per litre. In Thiruvananthapuram, gasoline cost Rs 107.71 per liter and diesel Rs 96.52 per litre.

Brent futures fell $6.69, or 5.6 percent, Friday to settle at $113.12 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell $8.03, or 6.8 percent, to settle at $113.12 a barrel. settle at $109.56.

Petrol and diesel prices at local fuel pumps are linked to international crude oil prices and changes should be adjusted accordingly on a daily basis.
