Poco F4 5G photos leak, the phone is allegedly based on the Redmi K40S

Pictures of the upcoming Poco F4 5G have surfaced – just like the Poco F4 GT, this phone is related to the Redmi K series. The two-step camera bump with three lenses arranged in a triangle bears a striking resemblance to the Redmi K50, K50 Pro and K40S.

Unconfirmed information suggests that the Poco F4 5G is based on the latter, the Poco K40S. It’s not identical as the label on the back clearly says “64MP OIS”, while the K40S has a 48MP camera (with OIS).

Camera changes aside, the new Poco F phone would feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display (FHD+, 120Hz), 6/128GB memory configuration, a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging (0-100% in 38 minutes), stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. And probably an 8MP ultra-wide angle and 2MP macro cameras on the back, plus a 20MP front camera.

It should have a Snapdragon 870 in it – a tried and true chipset, but a few generations behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which uses the Poco F4 GT (which itself is based on the Redmi K50 Gaming).

The GT model was launched worldwide in late April/early May, starting with an early bird price of €500 (for an 8/128 GB model). When the K40S launched in China in mid-March, the base price was CNY 1,800 for a 6/128 GB model, which equates to $270/€250/₹21,000. That is, we expect the Poco F4 to cost 5G somewhere in the middle. For reference, the Poco F3 (which by the way used the same chipset) launched for €350 and has now fallen to €260.
