A new chipset would enable 5G connectivity and a possible reduction in the screen refresh rate to 60Hz were the only changes made to the 5G model of the Galaxy A23 before it was secretly made official.

According to GSM Arena, the exact processor powering the Galaxy A23 5G will not be disclosed in Samsung’s official specifications. According to Geekbench scores, it is the Snapdragon 695, which is an updated version of the Snapdragon 690 with a 15 percent faster CPU and 30 percent better GPU.

Both the 695 and Snapdragon 680, which powers the Galaxy A23 (4G), were introduced at the same time and both use TSMC’s 6nm manufacturing process, although the 695’s hardware is several generations younger (for example, the CPU uses Kryo 660- cores instead of Kryo 265, or A78/A55 versus A73/A53).

The phone can be ordered with 4 GB, 6 GB or 8 GB RAM and 64 GB, 128 GB or 1 TB additional storage space via microSD card slots. This phone comes pre-installed with Android 12 and OneUI 4.1 just like its 4G sister.

The Galaxy A23 5G’s screen has the same specifications as the Galaxy A23 4G and measures 6.6″ with FHD resolution. The specifications released so far do not confirm or dispute whether such features are also present on the 5G model, but it had a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5. Anyway, since this is an “Infinity-V” display, a notch has been included to house the 8MP selfie camera (f/2.2).

The setup for the rear camera has not changed. Optical image stabilization and an f/1.8 lens are features of the 50 MP main module (OIS). A 5MP ultrawide (f/2.2) and two 2MP modules, macro and depth, have been added to this.

The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, although the charging speed is not specified (was 25 W on the 4G phone). FCC documents show it will be 25W again, GSM Arena reports.

The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has not yet been officially announced, but the sources expect to see it in India and Europe. Last year’s Galaxy A22 5G debuted at Euro230 (about $20,000). Since the Galaxy A23 (4G) started at $24,000, the 5G model should cost more.
