Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri, Aryan loved Darlings, says Alia: Suhana watched it twice | Web Series

Alia Bhatt became producer with Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma for her latest outing Darlings. The dark comedy, directed by Jasmeet K. Reen, has been praised by several celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan. Talking about the actor’s reaction, Alia recently revealed that even Suhana Khan and Aryan Khan loved the movie. Darlings highlights the issue of domestic violence against women. In the film, Alia as Badru plays the role of a housewife who lives with an abusive husband, Hamza, played by Vijay Varma. While Badru thinks her husband will stop abusing her if he stops drinking, Shefali Shah as her mother proposes to kill Hamza. Shah Rukh recently watched the film and tweeted: “I’ve been working non-stop for the past few days…so I had to enjoy my favorite time in the past…’the love of my own person’ and to indulge myself , I will spend the day with Prabhuji / Thumbs up and #DARLINGS.”

When asked about Shah Rukh Khan’s review of Darlings, an excited Alia told Bollywood Bubble: “Shah Rukh saw it and he spoke to me in that Darlings slang ‘thanks for such beautiful films’. She added that even Gauri Khan, Suhana and Aryan saw her film, she added: “They all loved it. They all saw it. They were so nice. Suhana (Khan) saw it twice. The second time she saw me, was ‘guy to see this a second time’.

“Khud ki tareef kaise karu (how do I rate myself?) but they enjoyed it. Let’s just say they were very happy, loving, supportive and really enjoyed it,” she continued when asked about their take on the film. Earlier on Saturday, Vijay revealed how he received negative reactions on the internet after playing an abusive husband in the film.

The actor dropped behind-the-scenes photos from the film sets, writing, “Hamza is tired of reading all the online hate he’s getting #darlings BTS.” One user responded to him, writing in the comments, “I hated your character Hamza in this movie showing how good you were.” “Hate your character, love you,” one added. “Well-deserved hate! What a brilliant performance, Vijay.” commented another.
