It’s all over for shamshera as the Ranbir Kapoor film showed no growth at the box office on the second day. By early estimates, it was a flat day for this historical drama, with collections falling within the range of € 9.8 to 10.60 crores. This puts the two-day total of YRF production at Rs. 20.60 crores.

Shamshera Box Office Estimate Day 2: Shows are reduced as the movie heads towards a FLOP; collects Rs. 10.25 crores on Saturday

Movies usually show profit on Saturdays, but shamshera has been flat, suggesting it will be the curtains for the film at the box office. Sunday there is a jump in collections, as shamshera is a mass movie, but that won’t help much. The best scenario for the opening weekend of shamshera is Rs. 34.50 crores and this would be a bad result.

The cinema halls have already started to shorten shows on Saturday and by Monday, presenting shamshera will be halfway through opening day, which is certainly cause for concern and introspection for the banner. Apart from the multiplexes, even single screens are not doing well, in fact the single screen biz is below Samrat Prithvirajwhich was also a dud of the producers.

shamshera is heading for life in the range of Rs. 50 to 55 crores, and this range would be the best screenplay for the movie. We are not ruling out the possibility of it ending below Rs. 45 crores too!
