The two companies will start production of a new SUV model developed by Suzuki from August at Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s production facility in Bidadi, Karnataka.
Limited and TKM will market the new model in India as Suzuki and Toyota models respectively. In addition, the two companies plan to export the new model to markets outside of India, including Africa.
The powertrains of the new model, which will go on sale in India, will feature a Suzuki-developed mild hybrid and Toyota-developed strong hybrid.
