Pakistan captain Babar Azam is in stunning form with the bat in various sizes, but on Thursday he became involved in a horrific confusion that led to the elimination of team-mate Fawad Alam. The incident happened on day 5 of the second test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at the Galle International Stadium. Fawad Alam drove a ball to the center of the field and singled, but Babar Azam at the end of the non-striker was caught looking at the ball, and realizing that Fawad was halfway down the field, looked he first to start for the flight, but then sent his partner back.
The indecision and lack of communication between the two caused Sri Lanka to make a simple run-out at the striker’s end.

Fawad had to backtrack for just 1 run of 9 deliveries in the pursuit of 508 through Pakistan.
Babar, meanwhile, put up a strong fight, but was eventually sacked by Prabath Jayasuriya for 81, as the hosts recorded a 246 point win to draw the two-game run 1-1.
Jayasuriya finished in the second innings with a five-wicket haul alongside the three he claimed in Sri Lanka’s first outing with the ball.
The left spinner has continued his brilliant form since his debut against Australia, finishing the series with 17 wickets.
With the win, Sri Lanka moved back to 3rd place on the World Testing Championship points list, while Pakistan dropped to 5th place, behind India.
South Africa remains the top performers, while Australia is in second place.
