Steam Brings Another Massive Update for Nintendo Gaming Lovers

Nintendo players are really having a good time this year. While already witnessing some of the best Switch titles available, third-party platforms are now also taking the initiative to attract more Nintendo gamers.

Digital storefront, Steam, recently added support for older Nintendo controllers. And now Valve’s online store has rolled out yet another feature, bringing big smiles to the faces of many Joy-Con players.

Steam adds support for Nintendo Joy-Con controllers

The Switch was released more than five years ago and Steam is now finally adding support for its Joy-Con controllers, according to Eurogamer. A newly released beta for the online store, from Valve, adds support for these Nintendo controllers.

Players who enjoy using the dual-handed clutch capsules can now enjoy PC games with the Joy-Con controllers. In addition, they will also have options to make certain configurations.

There is also support for individual Joy-Cons. This can come in handy for those looking for a mini gamepad-like experience. With this update, this means that Steam now supports a majority of Nintendo controllers. Pro controller compatibility was introduced four years ago.

In case anyone missed it, Steam recently gained support for classic Switch Online controllers like the NES, SNES, N64, and Mega Drive.

Shifting the focus back to the Switch console, there will be plenty of new releases for the device soon. While the first half of 2022 was already great, the rest of the year is also filled with highly anticipated projects.

When it comes to the highly anticipated Switch games coming soon, there are Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3, and Mario+Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are also lining up to make their way later in November. The title will be the first entry in the ninth generation of the Pokemon gaming franchise.
