Rashid Khan lost his mother on this day two years ago and the leg-spinner of Afghanistan and Gujarat Titans wrote a heartbreaking message on Twitter in memory of her on the anniversary of her death. “Two years since you left us mom. Everyone says time heals everything, but even after 2 years I still can’t stop my tears,” Rashid wrote in his tweet. “My heart is filled with sadness. I don’t know how I will get out of this phase, but I miss you every moment,” he added. He also shared a photo of his mother’s funeral.

Several users flooded the comments with statements of support.
“Sympathy with @rashidkhan_19 stay strong champion you have blessings and prayers from over 35 million people including mothers, fathers and youth,” wrote one user.
Pakistani batter Shan Masood also responded to his tweet with a prayer emoji and a heart.
Rashid Khan’s mother passed away in 2020 after a long illness. His father had died two years earlier.
Rashid Khan is a mainstay in the Afghan team of all sizes and is regarded as one of the best bowlers in the world in T20s.
He recently played a key role for Gujarat Titans as he helped them win the Indian Premier League (IPL) title in their inaugural season.

It was also Rashid’s first IPL title. He previously represented SunRisers Hyderabad, after making his IPL debut in 2017, helping them reach a final.
For Afghanistan, he played five Tests, 61T20Is and 83 ODIs, taking 34, 109 and 158 wickets respectively in the three formats.
