Texas-Based YouTuber Donates World’s Biggest Nintendo Switch That He Built Himself

Japanese video game company Nintendo released the handheld console Switch on March 3, 2017. Shortly after its release, it became a colossal hit among fans as it provided an excellent handheld gaming experience. In addition, the Big N later released a cheaper version, Switch Lite, and also an upgraded more expensive version.

But it seems that many didn’t like the handheld aspect of the device as some gamers preferred to play on big screens. So a YouTuber came up with a unique idea to experience the handheld console in a bigger way. And the same unique Switch console was donated to a children’s hospital by the YouTuber.

The World’s Biggest Nintendo Switch

Switch is built with an emphasis on handheld gaming, so gamers can play even while traveling. But some prefer to relax at home and play games on a big screen. So the Japanese giants even had a solution for that, as they had a dock that allows fans to stream and play Nintendo Switch games on a big screen.

But it seems Michael Pick, a Texas software engineer, had other ideas. He built a giant Nintendo Switch and even named it “The World’s BIGGEST Nintendo Switch” on his YouTube channel. While there is no official record that it is the world’s largest Switch, it is undoubtedly bigger than a regular Nintendo.

According to Pick, this giant Switch is 650 times bigger than the regular one. The dimensions of the regular Switch are 6.9 x 4.0 inches, while this gigantic one was 70 x 30 inches. You may wonder the reason behind a huge Switch, but Pick made this as a charity work for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Plus, he likes to build giant devices as he also built a massive Xbox and Nerf gun.

How does the largest switch work?

The technology behind its biggest Switch is no exaggeration. Because he just used a large 4K screen enclosed in a custom housing that resembles a giant Switch. He also connected the giant joy-cons to regular joy-cons by means of servos.

The huge Switch can be controlled using the giant joy-cons or an external Pro controller. He then hooked up a standard Switch to the big screen using a dock.
