TVS Ronin 225 can pose a serious challenge to cruiser bikes like Bajaj Avenger and Royal Enfield Classic 350.
TVS Motor Company plans to introduce a new motorcycle in July. The upcoming product will be launched on July 6. Although the company has yet to confirm the name of the upcoming product. Rumor has it that the bike is now called the Ronin 225, it could be used for the production version of the Zeppelin cruiser.

The company registered the nameplate ‘Ronin’ in the country earlier in 2020. Sundaram – Clayton Limited, a subsidiary of the TVS Group, filed a trademark application from TVS Ronin, which was also accepted around the same time. The chances of the production-specific Zeppelin being officially named Ronin are pretty likely, but the added “225” suffix indicates the company could introduce a new drivetrain on the bike, making it more challenging for people like the bikes like Bajaj Avenger and Royal Enfield Classic 350.

A new and more powerful 225 cc powertrain is likely to deliver nearly 25 hp and 22 Nm of power. The transmission could be a 5-speed manual transmission, but these details have not been confirmed at this time. Originally, the Zeppelin concept shown at the Auto Expo was equipped with a new 220 cc single-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 20 hp at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine was mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. And also had a patented Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) with e-boost option for faster starts.
The expected price range is between 1.30 lakh to 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a premium offering.
