US recalls include Porsche Taycan

Porsche Cars North America is recalling 12,490 Taycan vehicles for 2020-2022. A software error can cause the center screen (including the image from the rear view camera) and the touch control panel to remain black immediately after the ignition is switched on. The Real-Top-View (including the image from the rear view camera) can also display a flickering image. As such, these vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 111, Rear Visibility. Dealers install new software for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent on August 5, 2022.

Chrysler (FCA USA) is recalling 138,645 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2014-2019 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with 3.0L diesel engines. Dealers will replace the HPFP and, if necessary, inspect and replace additional fuel system components, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent on July 29, 2022.

Chrysler is also recalling 117,759 2022 Ram 1500, 2500 pickup trucks and 3500 Cab Chassis vehicles with a GVWR of less than 10,000 lbs. The radio software may prevent the rear view image from being displayed. As such, these vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 111, Rear Visibility. Dealers will reprogram the radio software for free. Owner application letters are also expected to be sent out on July 29.

Chrysler is also recalling 270 904 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. A malfunction in the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) module can cause the brake lights to illuminate and allow the vehicle to start and shift out of park without depressing the brake pedal. The drug is under development. Owner application letters are also expected to be sent out on July 29.

Ford’s new Bronco is being recalled. The automaker is recalling 53,103 four-door Bronco models 2021-2022 because the rear passenger door can be opened from the inside when the child lock is in the ON position. Dealers will inspect the passenger side child safety locks and replace them free of charge if necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent on July 25, 2022.

Ford is also recalling 30,244 2022 Transit vehicles because the instrument panel may not properly illuminate the tell-tales or gauges and the speed and tachometer indicators. Owner application letters are also expected to be sent out on July 25.
