Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, who are in the process of promoting their upcoming movie Liger talked about the hardest part of filming. While both actors agreed that the dance sequences were the most difficult to perform, Vijay said “dance favors women” because they have an unfair advantage.
After boarding the Mumbai local, the Liger stars stopped by for an interview with Filmy Mirchi. Vijay said dancing was very difficult because: “Dancing is a bit unfair to men because women look beautiful so they don’t have to do anything and it looks beautiful when we have to have our angles and so well. Dance is very biased towards women. You have this hair that will do half the dance.”
Ananya reacted quickly enough because she disagreed with her opponent. She said, “Oh please, what nonsense. It’s hard for anyone to dance when you have two left feet like me.” Recently, the duo appeared on the show Koffee with Karan where they spilled the beans about their personal and professional lives. During the show, Ananya expressed her views on Vijay’s controversial film, Arjun Reddy. The film was hotly debated for its gender politics, which many saw as problematic. While Vijay said he disagrees with the character’s outward violence against women in the film, he said it’s a prerequisite for him to empathize with each character he plays. Ananya replied: “Frankly, I feel that if people have come to him (Vijay Deverakonda), I am sure there are such people. I’m just not surrounded by those people. And I wouldn’t recommend any of my friends to agree. But that’s just how I am.”
Liger brands Vijay’s Bollywood Debut. Aided by Puri Jagannadh, the film also stars Mike Tyson, Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy among others. The film is all set to hit theaters on August 25.
