Virender Sehwag brutally trolled after wrongly congratulating Hima Das for winning gold

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag was brutally tackled by netizens on Saturday after falsely congratulating Hima Das on winning gold at CWG 2022. Sehwag wished Indian athlete Das for winning gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, long before the athletic event had even started at CWG 2022.

Sehwag later deleted his tweet congratulating Sanket Mahadev Sargar who later won India’s first medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The cricketer changed in the commentator’s tweet: “What a win! Indian athletes have arrived all the way. Congratulations to Hima Das on winning gold in the 400 meters at the Commonwealth Games. Fakr Hai.”

However, Sehwag later realized he was the victim of misinformation and quickly deleted his tweet, but it was too late by then.

When veteran Sanket congratulated Sargar, fans started trolling him and some even urged him to stay better informed.

“Well done #SanketSargar for winning India’s first Commonwealth Games medal, brilliant effort. Proud of your silver #CWG,” he wrote.

Here’s how netizens responded to Sehwag’s tweet:
