Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge DLC is a possibility that depends on the success of the game and feedback from the fans.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge was released on June 16 and many players are wondering whether or not there will be a DLC for the game in the future. The game has been released for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It is a side scrolling action brawler game inspired by the 1987 animated series.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge also pays tribute to the elderly TMNT 90s games with improvements in quality of life and online play. During Summer Game Fest 2022, it was revealed that Casey Jones will be an unlockable playable character, bringing the total number of playable characters to seven: Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo, Donatello, Splinter, April O’Neil, and Casey Jones. The original TMNT voice actors returns to Shredder’s Revenge of the 1987 cartoon to express its iconic characters.
With a game like TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge with an emphasis on characters that have had fans for generations, many are wondering if a DLC is in the works to add more characters or skins from the franchise to the game after launch. The answer is a little more complicated than a definite yes or no. Ultimately, it seems to depend on how popular the game eventually becomes.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge DLC Depends on Game Success
Tribute Games narrative designer Yannik Belzil announced on the Xbox Expansion Pass YouTube channel that the studio will not be making additional costumes as DLC for the playable characters of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge† Belzil claims that the animators worked in great detail and that resuscitating new skins would take a long time. Belzil hinted that they would be amenable to creating a new playable character rather than creating alternate skins, which would add more variety to the six-player mode of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge†
The day after the Xbox Expansion Pass interview, Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert said via Twitter that there will be no alternate costumes available at launch and that there are no DLC plans as of yet. However, he also hinted that the addition of DLC will depend on the game’s reception and the community’s ideas and feedback. Fans won’t get to see any DLC anytime soon, but there’s still a possibility that will happen in the future.
Some clarification here: There won’t be any alternate costumes at launch and we don’t have any DLC plans as of yet, but we never said “never”. It will depend on many factors such as how the game is received and the ideas/feedback that the great community will send us. https://t.co/l51aqNmYKI

The game is a love letter from the late 1980s and early 1990s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles media, all the way to the TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge soundtrack with Wu Tang, and it has plenty of great opportunities for valuable DLC. It has the look of a classic arcade game with the updated feel of a current game offering online and co-op play, perfect for Turtles fans. With any luck, the game’s success will bring DLC for fans in the near future.
