Wrestlers On A Roll In Birmingham, India Wins Three Gold Medals In Wrestling

Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 8 LIVE: Hello and welcome to ABP LIVE’s coverage of the Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 8 action. India added two more medals to its cat on Day 7 of CWG 2022, bringing the medal to 20 so far. India furthermore looks set to have a medal as the highly anticipated Indian wrestling contingent begins their campaign in Birmingham Games 2022 today. Seven boxers have secured medals after reaching the semifinals of their respective weight categories, but the color of the medals is yet to be determined.

On Day 8, Rio Olympic medalist Sakshi Malik will lead the women’s 62kg wrestling campaign, while veteran wrestler Bajrang Punia will lead the men’s contingent in the 65kg freestyle event. Anshu Malik (57 kg), Divya Kakran (68 kg), Deepak Punia (86 kg) and Mohit Grewal (125 kg) are also in action today.

The Indian women’s hockey team will be looking for a place in the final as they face Australia in the semi-finals. Hima Das has qualified for the semi-final with 23.42 seconds and will also compete in the semi-final of the women’s 200 meters today.
